i enjoy exposing jws for what they really are.. i get the sense at times that some might think we pick on them.. what's your opinion?.

In general this is true. But some posters do attack rather than engage in honest discussion. We should not be trying to 'expose' a JW, but expose the religion instead, in such a way as to help a JW break free. JW's are victims, as so many here can testify.
as a functioning cult, would jehovah's witnesses kill someone, if ordered?
i believe that many would.. while some might think this is farfetched, i can cite some examples that manifest a lack of concern.
for the lives of others, that could easily be extended into murder or manslaughter.. 1) forcing older brothers into jobs at bethel that were far too strenuous for them - as a means of.
ask yourself: how much of a jump does it take to go from forms of manslaughter to get to outright murder? All you need is an absolute belief that you are right and that God is behind you, all the way. A cult is a cult, is a cult, is a cult.
I asked myself. How much of a leap? To the moon and back. Hate the WT as much as I do, but let's not get so carried away that a hypothesis so ridiculous gets taken seriously.

It's not hate, but there is a lack of sympathy. In JW land, your worth as a Christian, as a person, is measured by how much you are out in field service and at the meetings. If you are depressed, this activity drops, and so does your standing in the congregation. Illness gets considered as spiritual illness. This is the reality in JW land - conditional love and fictitious standards of what makes a person a good Christian or not. This attitude breeds more depression, and the cycle continues.

some time ago i wrote to you about the dangers of jehovah's witnesses and how they don't deserve charity status because far from helping mankind they are a real danger to it.
The Commission has no evidence to suggest that the charity undertakes activities outside these objects and that it is therefore failing to operate as a charity.
With regards to the issue of disfellowship, this is a doctrinal issue which we have previously considered. Different doctrinal practices are common in religious charities and this is not something which would cause us to consider the charitable status of the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Britain.
So you got told they fall within the parameters of a charity in the UK and that the commission does not consider doctrinal issues. Which, sadly, is what I said would happen. In the UK it is easy for a religion to get charitable status, and in only the rarest cases is it rescinded. You might want to keep at it, but I expect you have received the final answer already. Time to move on to more productive methods?

There is still a lot being held inside I think.
That's a good point. But it's no excuse either. Many of us have been hurt by the JW religion and some may still be inside looking for a way out. Some others may still be blinded by the faith - they need our patience and understanding. No?

I think there would be less lurkers and more contributors if we all remembered that.

i can remember about 2 years before i exited the org i had a terrible dilema which didn't really have anything to do with my doubts in relation to doctrine.. the problem was hearing over and over and over about the fact that being in the org was 'the best place to be'.
that the brothers were 'true friends'.
didn't they have a video out called 'ypa - how can i make real friends?'.
the congregation are just one big family and that we should be teaching our children to love the brothers and sisters in the congregation.
This raises a very important point - the WT talks about love as something you teach people to have. They talk of a principled love, an obligation to those in the congregation etc. And that's the problem - genuine love is an EMOTION, and one does not need to be taught to have it or apply it since one either FEELS it or not.
so it's been a month since my detailed letter was sent to the watchtower service department.
i sent the letter through dhl delivery, so that it could be tracked.
as of today, they still deny recieving the letter.
"Uhh, is this something urgent?"
Next time say "According to you, it's a life or death situation" LOL
It's a rewording of the previous statement, but does not really stray from what went before.
